Pop Up Art

Last weekend I had the opportunity to set up a little "Pop Up" shop in a replica train car, built by Roundhouse Workshop, which is based in Contoocook NH. The replica train cars can take on the roles of tiny houses, studios, shops, etc.

Magical!

I had fun greeting visitors to my shop! It was a great opportunity to explain my printmaking techniques, and to show off the cutest little rail car! The middle car functioned as a craft brewery for the event. The Caboose on the left is a tiny house model with a queen sized bed in the upper level. Everyone I met was impressed by the construction and versatility of the cars.

In my town, we had our first bit of snow on Wednesday night. My husband captured this shot of the town square with the recently lighted Christmas tree. Quintessential New England scene!

Lots to do before the big day in 2 weeks! Stay well!  xo

Autumn in New Hampshire

The foliage has been slow to arrive in all its brilliant colors, but this week it has been a bit more showy!

I had to stop on my walk and take a few pictures of the sky mirrored in the river, as well as a closer view of the bridge.

And last weekend in York, Maine!

Illustration Friday "repeat"

This week's theme, "repeat," seemed a little challenging. I wanted to do something that wasn't the most obvious solution, so I went with the idea that little kids always want their favorite story read over and over "again…again…again."

Otherwise my summer is flying by! During the last couple of weeks, I flew to Maryland for a visit with several friends, and a trip to the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Maryland, Virginia) for some beach time. After driving back to New England, the rest of my college friends and I spent time in Connecticut for our annual summer reunion.

Now that my big trips are over, I'm focusing on getting artwork together for "Uncommon Art on the Common" which takes place on Saturday August 2nd in Goffstown NH. This annual show has a large assortment of different types of art from a variety of local artists. I've ordered more mat board and other supplies, so next week will be a busy one. I just hope the weather will cooperate!
