I'm working on a new block print of an iconic Maine lighthouse--Nubble Light. I used an old photograph that I had taken probably back in the 1980s. There have been some recent renovations, to the facade of the house, since I took my photo, but I'm sticking with the vintage image.
I am a retired high school art teacher who enjoys drawing and painting, but who now works predominately as a printmaker in my small home studio. I love exploring various block printing techniques, and print everything by hand without a press, using water soluble inks.
Whatever I do as an artist, I have to remind myself---no pressure---it all starts by just putting pencil to paper.
