It's neat how you say she was happier when you started sketching her. Probably because she had every intention of visiting grandma but as everything around her became full of color and interest she became conflicted, wanting to veer off the safe path. Lovely work!
I am a retired high school art teacher who enjoys drawing and painting, but who now works predominately as a printmaker in my small home studio. I love exploring various block printing techniques, and print everything by hand without a press, using water soluble inks.
Whatever I do as an artist, I have to remind myself---no pressure---it all starts by just putting pencil to paper.
Love this!
ReplyDeleteThis is great Jane....is it that I know the story or does she have a degree of concern on her face and a feeling of holding back...;0)

It's funny---.she looked happier in the beginning of the sketching process, but ended up less so.
