When baking, there is nothing more frustrating than finding a part of the cake still stuck to the pan. Then having to try to reassemble the pieces and hide them under the frosting.
I am a retired high school art teacher who enjoys drawing and painting, but who now works predominately as a printmaker in my small home studio. I love exploring various block printing techniques, and print everything by hand without a press, using water soluble inks.
Whatever I do as an artist, I have to remind myself---no pressure---it all starts by just putting pencil to paper.
What an adorable illustration! I'm loving her shoes and socks!
ReplyDeleteYour character is simply adorable. I like how you brought her to the forefront with your choice of color.
ReplyDeleteI have forgotten all about the cake as I'm attracted to her courteous smile and look. Nice drawing!

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true! And this is such a darling illustration...I love the satisfied, and proud, look on your little girl's face. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFrom a fellow art teacher, great job! Adorable illustration! I have made a cake or two like that myself, but they still tasted great!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a warm and lovely style...perfect characters for picture books, I must say! ^__^
